Your new role
We have an excellent opportunity available for a safety-minded individual to join our Napier-based Transport team as a class 2 flatbed driver.
The class 2 truck uses a HIAB or truck mounted crane to collect both loose scrap metal and bins.
Reporting to the National Transport Manager, you will be primarily responsible for providing timely collection services with a focus on safety, customer service, punctuality, and a great flexible attitude.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring efficient service to customers by collecting scrap metal in a timely manner.
- Communicating with management to identify any on-site concerns regarding OHS, environmental, or collection issues arising.
- Work in accordance with a daily plan for routine collections, our site safety, environmental and quality procedures.
- Participate in various continuous improvement and other programs as required.
- Operation of any additional mobile plant/equipment to assist with collection/loading.
Essential Criteria:
- A current NZ Class 2 Drivers Licence
- High levels of customer service, good communication skills and the ability to work autonomously or in a team environment.
- Flexibility with both transport and operations.
Desirable criteria:
- Previous experience in a similar industry would be highly regarded.
- Truck Mounted Crane Certification
- Dangerous Goods Endorsement
- WTR, higher driver class license an advantage.
