Looking for a reliable delivery driver for a business based in the Christchurch region.
In this role you will pick up and drop off items while adhering to assigned routes and schedules. You should be willing to work as part of the delivery team/fleet to ensure that the items are complete, packed correctly, and safely delivered to the correct client.
To succeed as a delivery driver, you must be polite and prompt with a commitment to providing our clients with an excellent experience. You should be thorough in ensuring orders are properly fulfilled, committed to work safety, and passionate about satisfying clients.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Loading, transporting, and delivering items to clients or businesses in a safe, timely manner.
- Reviewing orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, the charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied.
- Assisting with loading and unloading items from vehicles.
- Accepting payments for delivered items as required.
- Providing excellent customer service, answering questions, and handling complaints from clients.
- Adhering to assigned routes and following schedules.
- Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record.
- Preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries.
Ideal candidate requirements:
- Valid driver's license (ability to drive independently).
- Clean driving record.
- DG License an advantage
- Experience driving larger vans preferred, but not necessary. Training will be provided.
- Strong time management and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items repeatedly throughout the shift for loading and delivery purposes.
- Ability to drive manual transmissions vehicles an advantage.
Hours of work: You will be guaranteed a minimum of 30 hours per week and your start time will be 7.30am. You may be rostered any day between Monday to Sunday.
Location: You will be based in Christchurch but will be required to drive outside of the region from time to time to, including to Queenstown and/or other part of south island. Overnight stays may also be required from time to time.
Wages: $32-$35per hour, based on skills and experience
