About the role
The Patient Transfer Service workload includes planned and urgent transfers for hospitals and transport for residential care, palliative care, bariatric and air ambulance patients. Hato Hone St John provides services to Te Whatu Ora Health NZ and is the largest provider of patient transfer services in New Zealand.
Duties
- Transport patients between hospital facilities
- Work alongside health professionals
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills with a strong patient focus
This is a Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, permanent position.
Skills & experience
- A full class '1' NZ drivers license, held for a minimum of 12 months with an excellent driving record
- First Responder qualification - we will train you up if you are new to Hato Hone St John
- Confident operating large vehicles and operating under lights and sirens when required
- Good level of physical fitness
- Resilient and able to work with autonomy
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus
- A genuine commitment to the well-being and care of others
- The ability to work under pressure
- Current First Aid Level 2 Certificate desirable but not essential
