Join our Crop Monitoring team in a physically demanding role working outdoors to help us complete soil core collections.
We have opportunities for work across a large area so get in contact to discuss the work available in your area.
- Soil core collections occurs between now and October, this is generally a casual position working as and when required as dictated by client demands for the soil sampling service.
- There is flexibility to work between one and four days per week
- A typical day of soil core collecting involves travelling to a farm and conducting the soil testing programme
- You will require a level of fitness for this position as you will be walking approx. 5 kms per day across dairy or dry stock farms and Kiwi fruit orchards
- You will also be climbing gates to access paddocks, bending repetitively as you use a probe to extract a soil sample and carrying a backpack with approx. 5kgs of soil core collections.
What you'll bring to the team:
- No Prior experience needed! If you are committed to working, and are comfortable walking around a farm we will provide you all the necessary training
- Good physical fitness, this role is an active role where you will be on your feet walking and bending throughout the day
- A full, current, and clean NZ driver's licence
- Experience driving a 4WD Ute on farms/ country roads is required plus you will require your own 4WD - Mileage will be reimbursed
- Ability to follow instructions and comply with Health and Safety requirements
- A current First Aid Certificate is preferred however we can supply this training if you meet all other criteria.
