This role is perfect for anyone seeking to enter the port industry or just wanting to earn some extra income. We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic staff to join our Log Marshalling team at our Tauranga Checkpoint on a casual basis. The Log Marshalling Checkpoint is the first point of contact for logging trucks coming onto the port. All logs are ticketed with barcodes and then measured (scaled) and prepared for export. This is an integral part to the export process.

Having prior experience within a similar role or Industry is great, however this is not essential as ISO provides full comprehensive training to new employees and we are committed to the ongoing training and development of our people. The Checkpoint is a vibrant and exciting environment to work in.

Your job duties would be:

Providing Accuracy and Efficiency in Log Measurements
To ensure the piece count of the docket matches the number of logs physically in the load.
To measure the length of at least one log per docket to verify the length is correct.
To measure logs to the National Standards.
To mark each packet with docket information for loader operators (information specified by the Manager).
To make sure all logs have a ticket on the small end of the log.
To follow best marshalling practices, SOPs and Company policy.
To ensure all measuring equipment is in good working order and calibrated
Maintaining Site and Equipment
To adhere to all SOPs at all times.
To identify and report risks/hazards in and around the log scaling operation.
