The role

Reporting to the Field Asbuilting Team Leader, as the Asbuilting Field Technician, you will provide field as-builts/data capturing and CAD drawing services to meet our customer and invoicing requirements for Northpower’s Electricity and Gas teams.

You will work diligently with our contracting partner Vector and effectively with Design, Projects, GIS, teams to contribute to the overall business success.

Based in Auckland, you will be accountable to :

- Undertake as-built capture for designated jobs using GPS and/or other methods of data capture as required
- Complete as-builts on-time and accurately to comply with our Customers’ and Clients’ regulatory requirements, standards, and policies.
- Consistently role model and encourage actions that align with company values and behaviours.
- Absolute commitment to safety; be mindful on safety for self, workmates, customers, the public, networks, and environment with continuous, best practice of HSQE requirements according to our compliance procedures

About you
You will have 1-2 yrs. experience in field asbuilting/data capturing and CAD drawings or be a recent graduate with an aspiration to kick- start a career and enjoy working in the field and office.

Your right attitude, mindset, and willingness to learn will carry weight for success. We’re looking for an individual who can demonstrate the following:

- High Attention to detail with accuracy
- Some GIS knowledge and experience; tertiary qualification in GIS will be advantageous
- Excellent communication ( written and verbal) with a high, quality standard in providing reports on drawing updates and changes
- Being fit, able and willing to work in all outdoor conditions and terrain
- Enjoy working in team environments, yet able to work self-directed
- Proficiency in MS office and ability to learn new systems quickly
- Effective time management and an honest work ethic
- Be a safety champion to proactively promote a safe culture
- Full clean NZ Class 1 Drivers Licence
- Comfortable liaising with various people and departments in a multi-cultural environment
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
