A little bit about us - We are the Transport Rebuild East Coast (TREC). This alliance has been set up to plan, organise and deliver much of the recovery and rebuild work needed on the highway and rail networks, together with local businesses and contractors across Te Tairāwhiti (Gisborne) and Te Matau a Māui (Hawke’s Bay).
Our alliance members include Waka Kotahi, KiwiRail, Downer, Fulton Hogan, and Higgins.
We are now looking for an experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor to join the team in Gisborne. In this role you will provide leadership, advice and guidance in relation to safety for the relevant business units, helping to deliver work for customers safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standard.
What we need from you:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience within a Health & Safety Advisors role, preferably within a contracting or industrial environment.
- Obtained a formal qualification in Health and Safety.
- Competent with Health & Safety Auditing.
- Current class 1 driver’s licence.
- Be a member of the NZISM group – desirable.
- Competence in the use of Word, Excel, Publisher and email and communications systems
- Work constructively as a member of the Alliance taking an active role in the Health and Safety function.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
