Electrician / Line Mechanic

As a result of solid projected growth over the next few years, we are looking for additional staff members in our Civil/Projects team.
The Role:
An exciting opportunity has become available for a hardworking and experienced Line Mechanic and or Electrician. Your new role will be based in Hamilton, with upcoming projects also in BOP and Auckland regions, there will always something new and exciting to get involved in with no two days the same.
Some of your responsibilities include:
- Project work.
- Advanced warning traffic systems.
- Traffic signal Installation works.
- Sports-field lighting and control systems.
- Plant maintenance.
- Installation of new network equipment.
- Streetlight fault finding, repairs, inspecting and testing of streetlights on multiple networks (an understanding and working knowledge of these systems will be required).
- Installation and connecting of new subdivision street lighting and associated equipment.
What you need:
It is essential that you are an experienced Line Mechanic and or Electrician with knowledge of the power industry.
- Current EWRB Practising License.
- A minimum of two years’ electrical experience.
- Class 1 full Driver’s License, (Class 2 Drivers license training can be provided).
- Available for an on call after hour faults roster with our general contracting staff if required.
- Be available to stay away from home if required.
- Ability to pass police vetting.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug testing (also random testing as required by our clients).
- A strong commitment to health and safety
- Sound knowledge of the H & S Act, Safety Manual Electricity Industry (SMEI) and Safe Practices for Low Voltage Electrical Work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of the larger team.
- Good communication and time management skills.
- Ability to work at heights.
- Be physically fit.
- Proven ability to take initiative and work under pressure.
- Hiab and EWP experience (preferred however full training can be given to the right applicant).
